Specialmove, a leading specialist in recruitment for the video games industry, has launched it’s brand new website today, 23rd July 2010 – www.specialmove.com. In addition to the new site, the company has unveiled a new 'face' to the website as part of a branding update: a friendly robot called ‘AKA-Maru’.

The new website features a powerful, industry leading search & match engine, enabling jobseekers to quickly identify and apply for their ideal games industry job. Designed to ensure increased quality and speed of service for candidate and clients alike, the new and advanced website is powered by the very latest specialist recruitment and talent management software solution developed by Firefish Software Ltd. Key benefits for candidates include.... quick and easy registration; intelligent realtime job search based on skillset and career objectives; details of unadvertised vacancies; regular job alerts of relevant roles via twitter.com/specialmovejobs; regular industry news and opinion pieces on hot games industry topics.

Key benefits for clients include.... increased efficiency and quality throughout the full recruitment process. This will assist the highly experienced team at Specialmove with more frequent and better targeted vacancy promotion through established media and social media platforms in addition to rapid, automatic identification of suitable candidates from thousands of registered users on the Specialmove database.

New features and content will be added on a regular basis including latest news from the industry and guest articles from respected industry figures.

To coincide with the new website Specialmove are also delighted to unveil ‘AKA-Maru’ as the new, friendly face of the site. After much research Specialmove teamed up with talented Hawaiian artist and designer Leo Blanchette to bring his creation to the games industry. ‘AKA-Maru’ (meaning ‘red circle’ in Japanese) was the perfect fit.

“After 5 years we felt that we needed to give our website a complete overhaul. We also wanted to integrate a new recruitment and talent management software solution. After assessing scores of products we finally selected Firefish. ‘Designed by recruiters for recruiters’ it was head and shoulders above the competition. It also features all the latest social media integration tools. As Twitter, Linkedin and Facebook play a bigger part in recruitment, it was important that the right solution for Specialmove had these features. Firefish is the complete solution and will handle Specialmove’s recruitment, advertising, sales, marketing and reporting requirements.

In addition to this we are very excited to unveil AKA-Maru as the new face of the company. He is a fantastic character with so much personality. We have big plans for him and he will feature on our new site, advertising and corporate branding. This is a really exciting time for the company and the games industry and we are especially well positioned to deliver even greater levels of service to our clients and candidates.”
